The levels differ in the algorithm that the computer opponents use. The cards are always dealt in random, regardless of the difficulty level. The game is saved at the beginning of each round, so you can always return later and continue the game. You may get the Queen, King, or Ace of Spades from another player and be forced to play them before getting a chance to get rid of them. If you get a bad hand, you may try not to pass the highest cards and instead try to "Shoot the Moon" and get all 26 penalty points. When passing cards to another player, remember which cards you passed and to whom, also note who passed cards to you, it may give some clues about his strategy.Special Rule: if one player gets all 26 penalty points, he will get 0 points, and all other players will get 26 points instead. When the game ends, the player with the lowest number of penalty points wins. The game ends once one of the players reaches 100 points (you can change this number from the Options menu). Hearts are broken when any player doesn't have a card from the leading suit and played a Heart instead.Ī Broken Heart icon will appear on the lower left side (next to your score) once Hearts are broken. You cannot play the Queen of Spades or a Heart on the first turn of the round.Ī player may lead with a Heart only after hearts were broken. When the round starts, the player who has the 2 of Clubs is the first to play, and he must play that 2 of Clubs. When a player doesn't have a card of the leading suit, he has a chance to play any unwanted cards, like the Queen of Spades or high Hearts, knowing that he cannot win this turn and take any penalty points. This player will also play first in the next turn. If one or more of the four cards carry penalty points (a Heart or the Queen of Spades), they are added to the player's score. If a player doesn't have a card of that suit, he is free to play any other card.Īfter all players played a card, the player who played the highest card of the leading suit takes all Four cards. Other players must play a card of the same suit. In the fourth round, there is no passing.Įach turn starts with one player playing one of his cards, this is the leading card of the turn. In the third round, to the player on the right. In the second round, to the player in front. In the first round, to the player on the left side. When the game starts, each player selects three cards to pass to another player: The lowest-ranking card is 2, and the highest card is Ace. The Queen of Spades is worth 13 penalty points. The goal of the game is to avoid getting penalty points. I just wish I could get my $1.99 back. Our version is played by four players - You (brown monkey) against three computer bots (blue otter, yellow bird, red fox). It should be making educated guesses based of unknown variables per player/AI, not as a collective team that knows your hand.Īs a positive, the UI of the game is pretty good. Perhaps it should just be unfair mode (other games have that mode lol). That doesn’t make the game is hard, just unfair. Of awareness of what cards are out there, but the AI shouldn’t know “who” has which cards and it essentially does - so it can set you whenever it wants. Im all for challenging, and this is essentially a game The hands that are played by the AI have to be based on what’s in your hand - there’s no way for a player or AI to be “lucky” that often where they know exactly what to play and exactly when, unless it’s counting cards and all 3 AI know what’s in your hand (working together, which of course it will - its all the same AI). I never leave reviews but I came back to see if anyone else noticed the cheating and I’m not the only one! I’ve played dozens of times and I can win maybe one out of 20 games? You can dismiss this review and just assume that I’m a bad player lol but I don’t think I am, I love playing hearts with friends and spades and am an avid strategic board gamer. I thought that 1 star reviewer reporting card counting was being salty but it HAS to be the case.
